These are the terms for using T800. We’ve kept them short because complicated terms are how trust gets eaten. If anything is unclear, email [email protected].
What T800 is
T800 is a Tesla Model S/X vehicle health monitoring service. You connect a small computer (the T800 Box) and an OBDLink MX+ adapter to your car, and we provide:
- A daily health report covering 6 vehicle subsystems
- Trend charts and historical data
- Predictive alerts when something looks abnormal
- A mobile app and web dashboard
- Technical support from a real human (Harrison)
T800 is not:
- A replacement for professional Tesla service
- A diagnostic tool that issues legal certifications
- A tool to bypass, modify, or interact with Tesla’s vehicle controls
- Affiliated with, endorsed by, or licensed from Tesla, Inc.
Pricing and the deposit
T800 currently costs:
- $49 USD per month (subscription)
- $300 USD refundable device deposit (you pay this once)
The deposit covers the T800 Box hardware that we ship to you. The Box remains property of T800. When you cancel and return the Box in working condition, you get your $300 back.
OBDLink MX+ adapter: $100 USD, sold separately. You can buy it from us, from Amazon, or anywhere else.
Prices are in US dollars. Canadian customers will see CAD-equivalent pricing at checkout (subject to current exchange rate).
How the deposit works
- You pay $349 at checkout: $300 deposit + $49 first month
- We ship you a pre-configured T800 Box
- Your $49/month subscription continues until you cancel
- When you cancel: ship the T800 Box back to us within 30 days
- We inspect it; if it’s in working condition, we refund your $300
What counts as “working condition”:
- Powers on
- Boots normally
- No physical damage beyond normal wear (scratches OK; broken case not OK)
- Includes all original parts (power adapter, etc.)
What we don’t refund:
- Lost or stolen devices
- Devices intentionally damaged or modified
- Devices not returned within 30 days of cancellation
If you’re unsure whether your device qualifies, email us before shipping it back. We’ll tell you.
Subscription
- Billed monthly via Stripe
- Cancel anytime — no contracts, no minimum term
- If you cancel mid-month, you keep access until the end of the billing period
- We do not auto-renew at higher prices without notifying you 30 days in advance
If your payment fails, we’ll email you. Your dashboard stays accessible for 14 days while you fix it. After 14 days, your account goes into a paused state (no new alerts) until payment resumes.
What you agree to
When you use T800, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information when signing up
- Not share your account credentials with others
- Not attempt to reverse engineer the T800 Box, the cloud service, or the mobile app
- Not use T800 to commit fraud, harm others, or break the law
- Treat the T800 Box reasonably (don’t drop it in water, don’t take it apart)
What we agree to
When you use T800, we agree to:
- Give you accurate, useful health monitoring of your vehicle to the best of our technical ability
- Be transparent when we don’t know something or when our confidence is low
- Honor the privacy commitments in our Privacy Policy
- Refund your deposit promptly when you return the device
- Respond to support emails within 2 business days
- Notify you before any material change to these terms
Limitations and disclaimers
This is the part lawyers usually make twice as long. We’ll keep it short.
T800 provides monitoring insights, not professional diagnostics. If T800 says your battery looks healthy and it later fails, that doesn’t mean we owe you a battery. We’re not Tesla. We’re an independent monitoring tool. Always consult a qualified Tesla technician for safety-critical decisions.
T800 may have bugs. This is a young product. We test it on real cars (including Harrison’s own 2017 Model X), but software has bugs and edge cases happen. If you find one, please tell us — we’ll fix it.
We don’t guarantee 100% uptime. We aim for high availability, but this is a small operation, not Amazon. If our cloud is down for a few hours, your dashboard might not load. The T800 Box keeps running locally regardless.
We’re not responsible for your car. If you use T800 information to make a decision about your car (sell it, drive it, repair it, ignore a warning), that decision is yours. T800 information is one input among many — your judgment, your mechanic, and Tesla service are others.
If something goes wrong
If you’re unhappy with T800:
- Email [email protected] and tell us what’s wrong
- We’ll try to fix it
- If we can’t, you can cancel — no penalty, deposit refunded
30-day money-back guarantee on first month: If you sign up, use T800, and decide it’s not for you within 30 days, we’ll refund your first month’s subscription in addition to the deposit.
Termination
We can suspend or terminate your account if:
- You stop paying (after the 14-day grace period)
- You violate these terms in a way that harms T800 or other users
- You ask us to (just email us)
In all cases, your $300 deposit is refunded when the device is returned in working condition.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada. Any dispute that can’t be resolved by emailing each other will be settled in BC courts.
Changes to these terms
If we change anything that affects you, we’ll email you 30 days before the change takes effect. Minor wording fixes get noted at the top of this page.
